CANTON, N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam golf team finished in 13th place at the two-day St. Lawrence Invitational. The Bears ended the competition with a score of 655 for the tournament, which was won by St. John Fisher College.
Potsdam was led by senior Shane Laurie (Canton, N.Y./Canton) who shot a 157 for the weekend. Trailing him, were freshman Matt Supernault (Massena,N.Y./Massena) and junior Shawn Thomas (Alexandria Bay, N.Y./Alexandria)who had scores of 165 and 166 respectively. Freshman Austin Pivetta (Chateaugay, N.Y./Chateaugay) rounded out the top Potsdam golfers as he finished with a score of 168.
The Bears return to action Sep. 17 and 18 when they travel to Middlebury,Vt. and compete in the Middlebury Tournament.
