SUNY Potsdam sophomore Amanda Perry was named to the 2011 All-State University of New York Athletic Conference Softball Team, the league announced on Tuesday, May 10.

Perry, a catcher/outfielder, finished second in the conference with eight home runs and 32 runs batted in and placed fourth in slugging percentage (.657). The South Glens Falls, N.Y., native tied for the team lead in runs scored (22) and finished second in batting average (.363) and hits (37).

On March 6-7, Perry hit a home run in four consecutive games, setting an NCAA Division III record for consecutive games with at least one home run. She broke the previous record of three, set on two different occasions by Ashley Peterson of St. Mary’s (Ind.) in 2010.

The Bears finished the season with a 10-24 overall record, including a 1-17 mark in conference play.

Last season, Perry hit .286 and threw out eight potential base stealers as a catcher, good for second in the SUNYAC.
