ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam golf team finished in a tie for seventh place at the ECAC Qualifiers. The St. John Fisher Cardinals won the rain-shortened tournament and finished with a score of 304. The Bears ended the tournament with a score of 348.
Potsdam was led by senior Shane Laurie (Canton, N.Y. / Hugh C. Williams) who shot an 82. He was followed by junior Shawn Thomas (Alexandria Bay, N.Y./Alexandria) and freshman Matt Supernault (Massena, N.Y./Massena) who each shot an 85. Senior Lee Shippee (Corinth, N.Y./Corinth) rounded out the Bears top golfers with a score of 94.
The Bears return to action Oct. 8-9 at the Hamilton Invitational in Clinton, N.Y.
