PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.-- The SUNY Potsdam men's and women's cross country teams finished fourth at the Kinetic Running Cardinal Classic on Saturday morning. Both the men's and women's teams of St. Lawrence placed first in their events.

Sophomore Joshua D'Angelo (Camden, N.Y./Camden) led the charge for the men with a time of 22:27.3. Freshman Nicholas Vida (Cornwall, Ontario/Holy Trinity) and senior Liam Joyce (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) finished neck and neck but Vida edged out Joyce finishing at 23:51.9, while Joyce finished at 23:57.6. Sophomore Matthew Brown (Chestertown, N.Y./North Warren) and junior Logan Drake (Theresa, N.Y./Indian River) rounded out the Bears finishing 24:07.8 and 24:31.6, respectively.

Freshman Lia Clemons (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Peru) paced the women with a 20:26.7 finish, placing 16th overall. Sophomore Emily Downs (Olivebridge, N.Y./Onteora) crossed the line next for Potsdam with a time of 21:59.8. Sophomores Kristen Alvy (Commack, N.Y./Commack) and Adriana Smith (Freedom, N.Y./Pioneer) were the next Bears to finish with times of 23:01.9 and 23:54.7, respectively, while junior Madeline Schmauch (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill) finished at 24:06.2. Sophomore Alice Menis (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) and freshman Abby Rescorl (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Mynderse Academy) rounded out the Bears with times of 25:08.6 and 25:14.7, respectively.

Potsdam is back in action Saturday at 11 a.m. as the travel down Route 11 to compete in the St. Lawrence University Hoffman Invitational.
