All 13 players score as Roos women's basketball win fifth straight, move above .500

Canton, NY – Tyberia Wallace scored a season-high 10 points as all 13 players on the roster scored in a balanced effort as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team earned a 74-43 win v. the University of Maine-Presque Isle.

The Roos (9-8) jumped out to a quick start nearly doubling up the visiting Owls 15-8 after 10 minutes of play. SUNY Canton continued to control play outscoring UMPI by six in the second quarter to take a 34-21 lead into intermission.

Canton received balanced scoring in the opening half from Chambers (8), Sade Rogers (7), and Tyberia Wallace (6). Emilia Churchill led the way for UMPI (2-12) with seven points.

The hosts continued to cruise in the second half on the way to the convincing victory.

Chambers led the Roos with 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Taylor Saltus posted 10 points and seven assists shooting 5-for-5 from the field in just 15 minutes of action. Wallace added 10 points in 14 minutes and Sade Rogers and Billie Rivenburgh finished with seven points apiece.

Churchill led UMPI with 11 points, while Kendra Silvers added nine.

The Roos outrebounded the Owls 53-30 and held advantages in points in the paint (46-24), bench points (41-15, points off turnovers (24-13) and fast break points (12-0)

The women's basketball team is back in action on Tuesday when it hosts SUNY Delhi at 5 p.m.
