A talented group of first- and second-grade boys lacrosse players from the North Country were able to dominate every tournament they entered this summer, from the Watertown area to one near Rochester, and remarkably never lost a game.
The team, ADK Selects, comprises members from Canton, Massena, Colton, Potsdam, Odgdensburg and Carthage.
After their regular lacrosse season, these boys came together for competitive lacrosse tournaments, the Canandaigua Invitational Lacrosse Festival, the Watertown Showdown Lax Fest, and the 1812 Shootout in Sackets Harbor.
“All the boys had a fantastic team and it was exciting to see such talent in the North Country,” said proud parent Kara Pitts.
She said the boys on this team are from several teams around the area that play against each other in less-competitive games in Akwesasne, Canton, and other towns, in a series that ended June 18.
Since then the boys have played more than a dozen games in three tournaments.
“It was pretty exciting to see them all come together and pretty much dominate every game they played,” Pitts said.
