HERMON – The Hermon fire chief and third assistant chief have been charged with grand larceny after an investigation by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office into the theft of copper pipe, radiant heaters, and a commercial-grade garage door opener from a Hermon residence.
Hermon Volunteer Fire Department Chief Christopher R. Stransky, 35, 105 Jefferson St., was charged Wednesday with the Class D felony of third-degree grand larceny along with a man reported to be his brother, John D. Stransky, 32, 102 Miles Rd., who is third-assitant chief of Hermon firefighters.
Both men were arraigned and released pending further action.
