MASSENA – New York State Police are asking for information from the public in a case of possession and promotion of child pornography.
An investigation initiated by the New York State Police Internet Crimes against Children Task Force and the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit has resulted in the arrest of Christopher J. Durand, age 34, Massena.
Durand was charged Friday afternoon at the state police station in Massena with one count each of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony, and of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a Class D felony.
He was arraigned in Massena Village Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond.
State Police at Massena ask that anyone with more information to contact Inv. Timothy Peets at 315-769-8439. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated, according to a state police statement.
Durand He is scheduled to appear in Village of Massena Court on Nov. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Troopers were assisted by the Village of Massena Police Department.
