Tickets for DWI, noise, vehicle and traffic infractions in Potsdam Thursday

POTSDAM -- Potsdam police issued tickets Thursday for driving while intoxicated, unnecessary noise, and various vehicle and traffic infractions.

Alex S. Ulloa-Lainez, 21, Huntington Station, was charged with driving while having a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and other offenses Thursday morning. received uniform traffic tickets for alleged driving with no or inadequate headlamps, failure to keep right, and driving while intoxicated at 2:33 a.m. along Market Street. Police said a patrol observed Ulloa-Lainez traveling north on Pierrepont Avenue with no headlights, and that the vehicle then failed to keep right traveling west on Main Street. During the stop, patrol detected the odor of consumed alcohol coming from the him, police said. A series of field sobriety tests were administered in which Ulloa-Lainez failed, and he was placed under arrest and brought to Potsdam Police Department for processing where they said they found his BAC was .17 percent.

A 17-year-old received a ticket at 8:17 p.m. for driving with no or inadequate brake lamps along Park Street after a patrol saw the driver traveling with no passenger side brake lamp.

Melina Hong, 30, Scarborough, Ont. was issued a ticket at 11:30 p.m. after a patrol allegedly saw him driving on Elm Street with a passenger side headlight out.

Terry D. Power, 36, Harrisville, was charged with unsafe backing and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 3:54 p.m. Thursday afternoon after investigation of a two-car property damage accident in the Price Chopper Plaza.

Leonardo E. Martinez, 22, Brooklyn, was issued a ticket charging him with unnecessary noise: music at 1:32 a.m. at a Pierrepont Avenue address after a patrol responded to investigate a complaint.
