CANTON – A man being held in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility is charged with second-degree assault after allegedly striking and injuring another inmate.
The county Sheriff’s Office said that Michael T. Neff, 28, struck Barry L. Stone, 43 during an altercation at the jail.
Neff was brought before Canton Town Justice Chris Curley and was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail.
Neff is to be in Canton Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
