HERMON -- A Richville man was charged by county sheriff’s deputies after allegedly violating an order of protection during a domestic incident on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, on the Jonesville Road.

William P. Simmons, 30, of 582 Jonesville Rd., was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Deputies said Simmons violated a no-harassment order of protection issued previously by Canton town court.

He was arraigned in Hermon town court and released under the supervision of the county probation department, said a press release from the sheriff’s department.

A stay away order of protection was issued in favor of the victim, the press release said.
