Revised 9:09 a.m. Nov. 15, 2018 to remove names of people who state police incorrectly reported as having been injured.

FINE -- State police said they investigated a personal-injury accident on Oswegatchie Trail Road Tuesday that resulted in several tickets being issued to the driver.

Scott E. Hayes, 36, Oswegatchie, was driving when the vehicle went off the road and overturned. Passenger 36-year-old Andrea R. Widmann of Oswegatchie reported neck, back and head pain. She was driven from the scene to Clifton-Fine Hospital.

Hayes told troopers he was driving the Ford Ranger when a mechanical failure occurred, causing the vehicle to spin and leave the road, hitting a ditch. The vehicle then overturned.

Hayes removed the vehicle before to patrol’s arrival, troopers said. The vehicle was located at Hayes' residence, 929 Oswegatchie Trail Road, with extensive damage.

Hayes was issued tickets for leaving scene of personal injury accident, unsafe speed, unsafe tire, and failure to notify DMV of change of address, all returnable to Town of Fine Court.
