Potsdam police arrest Pennsylvania man on drunk driving charges

POTSDAM — Robert J. Latulippe, 54, of Plymouth Meeting, Penn., was arrested by Potsdam police after a traffic stop Jan. 27 at 2:27 a.m. where Latulippe failed a series of sobriety tests.

Police said patrols observed Latulippe driving north on Market Street at a high rate of speed, which police radar confirmed to be 40 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone. The patrol stopped the Pennsylvania man’s vehicle and during the stop, the patrolman detected the odor of consumed alcohol emanating from Latulippe.

Latulippe failed subsequent sobriety tests, was placed under arrest and transported to the Potsdam Police Department on Elm Street. While being processed there, Latulippe was found to have a blood alcohol level of .13 percent.

He was charged with speeding (40/30), operating a vehicle with sidewings/side windows that were non-transparent, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent.

He was ticketed, released and is scheduled to appear in town court March 7 at 10 a.m.
