Gouverneur women charged with child endangerment, disorderly conduct after throwing soda at McDonald’s

GOUVERNEUR — Two Gouverneur women were arrested after throwing soda on another woman who was at McDonald’s, 118 East Main St., with two young children, according to Gouverneur police.

Meghan E. Shaver, 18, and Erica B. Jackson, 24, were each charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment following investigation of an April 27 incident at the restaurant, officers said.

Police said around 6:40 p.m. Jackson is alleged to have intentionally thrown soda from a cup on a female subject who was sitting in a booth with other family members. including two young children.

Shaver then engaged in a physical altercation with an adult male family member by shoving him, officers said.

Jackson turned herself in the following day at 4:27 p.m. and Shaver turned herself in at 5:17 p.m.

Both women were arraigned before Justice Travis Dann at Gouverneur Town Court and released under supervision of probation.
