Ogdensburg man charged with drug felonies, DWAI after allegedly found asleep at the wheel in running car

OGDENSBURG -- City police say they charged a man with numerous drug charges after allegedly finding him asleep at the wheel in a running car.

Tyler J. Armstrong, 22, of 720 Irish Settlement Road is charged with three felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and four misdemeanor counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, no inspection and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police said they responded at 11:09 a.m. to a complaint of a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of East David Street that had been running for about two hours. Police said they responded and found Armstrong at the wheel, and after waking him up allegedly found he possessed a large quantity of narcotic and non-narcotic prescription drugs, digital scales and packaging material. 

Police said he was being held pending arraignment as of Saturday afternoon.
