Man charged with possessing stolen crossbow in Canton
CANTON — Keith J. McCauley, 31, was charged by county sheriff’s deputies on March 1 for allegedly possessing and selling a stolen crossbow.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, McCauley was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. The charge was the result of an investigation of the theft of the crossbow from a home in DeKalb on Feb. 20.According to the sheriff, McCauley had allegedly possessed and sold the stolen crossbow in the village of Canton.
McCauley was ticketed, released and is scheduled to appear in town court at a later date.
