Heuvelton man charged with felony drunk driving in Macomb

MACOMB — David I. Mitchell, 47, of Heuvelton, was charged by St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies Dec. 22 on State Highway 58 with driving while intoxicated and other counts.

Deputies said Mitchell was driving with an alleged blood alcohol content of .24 percent.

Mitchell was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class E felony. The Heuvelton man has a DWI conviction in the previous ten years, which elevates this most recent charge to a felony count.

He was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving without an interlock device and speed not reasonable and prudent.

Mitchell was ticketed, released and is scheduled to appear in town court at a later date.
