Gouverneur man charged with criminal contempt, assault following alleged domestic dispute in Fowler

FOWLER — A Gouverneur man was charged with felony criminal contempt on CR 22 pm Saturday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Michael W. Travis, 25, was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and third-degree assault after allegedly assaulting a protected party of a no harassment order of protection issued by St. Lawrence County Family Court, officers said.

He was arraigned in Fowler court and ordered held on $1,000 bail, deputies said.

A no contact order of protection was issued in favor of the victim.
