POTSDAM – Potsdam police are investigating a dispute involving a knife that left at least one man injured at Clarkson University Wednesday night.

Police said one man allegedly slashed another in the hand with a knife during a dispute involving several students.

Although the incident occurred Wednesday, Potsdam Police were not informed until 10:28 a.m. Thursday.

“One student menaced several others with a knife, and then slashed one student in the hand be fore he was disarmed,” police said in the blotter report.

Potsdam Police said they will meet with Clarkson officials to determine the “nature” of the incident and to find out why it was not immediately reported to the Police Department by Campus Safety and Security.

Names of the students involved were not released and no charges were reported as of 6:30 a.m. Friday
