CANTON -- A Canton woman is accused of having two children in her vehicle while her blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit.
Christina M. Morehouse, 44, of 485 Eddy Pyrites Rd., whose vehicle was found in a snowbank last Friday, has been charged by St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies with a violation of Leandra's Law, which calls for extra penalties for driving while intoxicated while children are in the vehicle.
Morehouse has been charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated DWI, after they found her vehicle in s snowbank on St. Rt. 11 in the town of Canton.
Deputies say a 12-year-old and a 7-year-old were in the vehicle with her.
After testing, Morehouse's blood alcohol level was found to be .23 percent, according to the sheriff's office.
She was issued tickets returnable in Canton Town Court.
