Two hurt in Gouverneur car crash; man jailed on drug possession charges following Raymondville accident

Two people were hurt in a crash in Gouverneur early this morning, but no injuries were reported following other accidents in Norfolk and Gouverneur.

State police say they are still investigating a one vehicle collision on Beckwith Street at the Sterling Street intersection in Gouverneur reported at 12:49 a.m. today. Two people were injured. Driver was Nicholas R. Clary, 21, Massena.

At 1:15 p.m. Monday, police were notified of a two-vehicle collision on NYS Hwy. 56 at the Joy Road in Raymondville. Martin L. Nemeth, 25, Ithaca, driver of one of the vehicles, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh degree, controlled substance in a non-original container, and unlawful possession of marijuana and following too closely, police said. Rebecca May Guiser, 32, Potsdam, driver of the other vehicle, was not ticketed. No injuries were reported, police said.

Nemeth was arraigned in Town of Norfolk Court and taken to St. Lawrence County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $15,000 secured bail bond, police said.

Meawhile, police received a report at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday of an accident on County Route 12 near the Kearney Road in Gouverneur. Driver was Cory A. Denesha, 30, Gouverneur. No injuries were reported and no tickets issued, police said.
