On April 29, 2016 the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics was held starting in Ogdensburg and ending in Massena.
The event was enjoyed by the many runners, Special Olympics athletes, and other participants with over $2,500 in t-shirt sales and donations being raised locally.
Running in the event were local law enforcement officers from the NY State Police, St. Lawrence County Sheriffs, Ogdensburg City PD, Riverview and Ogdensburg Correctional Facilities, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Customs, and NYS Park Police.
A special thanks is extended to the following local businesses and organizations for their continued support of the event: The Elks Lodges in Massena #1702 and Potsdam #2074, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, Pepsi Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers, Phillips Diner, Latham’s Auto, AJ’s Septic, Gary & Aileen’s Hairstyling, Gary’s Auto, OFA Jazz Rock Ensemble, and the NYS Department of Transportation.
