To the Editor:
I would like to extend to the Potsdam Police Department my thanks for their prompt attention to me in February when I was in absolute crisis.
The responding officers that came to my home exhibited outstanding professionalism and sensitivity that was paired with a firm insistence that was absolutely appropriate to the situation.
I was very sick, and it is very likely that they saved my life.
If I am allowed to give a piece of advice to the public for when they interact with law enforcement, I would say the best thing to do is to suspend their reliance on the nonsense sensationalism the TV spews out and treat these professionals as individuals, and not as faceless uniforms.
We truly have an excellent example of law enforcement in our community and they have earned my respect.
