To the Editor:

Together, as this nation mourns the loss of Senator John McCain, my hope is renewed for our country. For as speakers eulogized him, I saw something clear: Contrary to what I thought, he was more like me than he was different.

I am encouraged by people who have come forward to run for office in 2018. People like Tedra Cobb, who care about our nation, integrity, and our democracy.

Voting is a simple way we exercise our rights and power as individuals. We have the power to vote for people of integrity, and people who have records of honor and service. The fact that over 1300 people have come forward to volunteer for our local candidate, Tedra Cobb, in competing against the corporate funded incumbent, is refreshing and empowering.

Tedra has a record of service to our area, as well as a record of understanding and listening to both sides of issues. She is running to serve our area. Period. My faith in this country is renewed by her, and by those standing with me to support her in her quest to become the representative for our District in Washington, D.C.

If you want to vote for someone of high moral character with deep roots in the area, join me to vote for Tedra Cobb on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018. Conservative, progressive, or somewhere in between, our country is depending on us to vote in people of good character. I think it is a great way to honor the passing of Senator McCain.

Vote on November 6th, 2018.

I will be making a day of it, bringing snacks to my polling place to share with my fellow Americans and neighbors. Let’s make this and every voting day a celebration of our democracy and the great people who have served our Nation with integrity. Find a ride. Bring a friend.

Thank you,

Elizabeth H A Bollt
