In response to “Hopkinton Has Bigger Problems Than Wind,” which appeared in the Feb. 28 - March 6 issue of North Country This Week: Are we living on the same planet? The one where democracy has been defended with so many lives?

Have you watched the videos from the meetings? People are serious about defending their rights here. The anti-turbine subsidy scam folks (not anti-wind) are having their rights stolen out from under them for lack of proper representation.

They are up against a $44 billion company.

You, being a former resident should know that this community does not have the financial resources to represent their interests.

All they have is their voice and their persistence to defend their homes and families.

Regardless of your sentimentality, this town is in the fight for their lives, on so many levels. I’m a newbie here, so I can see the situation objectively.

For anyone who cares to know more about why Hopkinton folks have had to stop playing nicely, you can start by reading the letter “Wind Company, Council Member Go Door to Door” in the Feb. 28 - March 6 issue of North Country This Week.
