To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came out to support my re-election. As sitting Judge for the past forty-four years, I’ve been honored to serve this community and will continue to do the best job that I can.
Going to the polls many might not understand what is involved in becoming a judge for a municipality. There is a lot of training, a lot of late night, early morning arraignments, many meetings and it involves a good working relationship with the people who work for me and with me.
It’s understanding the people and the circumstances for which they are in front of the judge. It’s having compassion yet a firm stance when needed. Not everyone who leaves the court is happy with me but it’s my job to see that justice is done. I enjoy the job, meeting the people and I’m still captivated by the array of different matters that come before me.
Although some may believe it’s time to retire, I’m still willing and able to serve my community in this capacity and will continue for as long as I’m able.
Thank you again for your continued trust and faith in me.
Honorable Wayne G. Williams
Stockholm town justice
