Opinion: Massena Central High School athletic HOF thanks those who helped induction

On behalf of the MCHS Hall of Fame Committee, we would like to thank the following for making the 29th annual induction another success.

First and foremost, Massena Savings and Loan for their sponsorship of the induction ceremonies, award plaques and certificates. The hall of fame is a self-supporting organization and without their continued financial support we would not be able to run the program.

MCHS food service: Peter Bertrand, Chrissy Phillips, Candy Ward, Elizabeth Ward, and John Sheets for the breakfast provided on Saturday morning for the inductees and our fall varsity teams.

The high school custodian staff for the setup and take down of the cafeteria for the induction and the breakfast. All the behind the scene personnel who do a tremendous amount of work:

Claudines Watkins, program booklets, plaque organization, Trish LaBarge, correspondence; Maureen Donnelly, printing of programs; Carol Love for her help; Tracey Supernault for printing of plaques.

Darrin Delosh and Mike Baines for the building of the wall and continued organization.

The Massena Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary for sponsoring the reception at the fire hall after the induction.

Coaches Corner (Al Chilton and staff) post game reception.

Jon Hunkins and the pep band. Ellen Hodge, sale of hall of fame clothing. AJ Embroidery for supplying and printing hall of fame clothing.

Bob Beckstead and the Courier for their coverage. A. Cappione Inc. and Curt Wood for printing of banners. Jodell Hammock and to all who played in the alumni soccer game and for their donations to the hall.

Gavin Regan, director of athletics, for all of his behind the scene work and support. MCHS for their continued support of our work and the inductions.

The ‘Red Raider’ Hall of Fame is long in pride and tradition. We are especially proud that we can continue to honor out excellence in athletes ad the athletes who were and are such a special part of our community.

We urge all in the community to continue making their nominations of players, coaches and team.

Thanks to all the mentioned and probably more, without with, none of this would be possible.
