It is that time of year when we elect officials for our village and town of Massena and St. Lawrence County legislator district 14.
This year on the ballots there are many wonderful people running for these offices. Having been employed nearly 40 years in local government, I have seen their hard work.
This year, I am supporting James Hidy as legislator. My classmate from the Holy Family days, I have known Jim for many years. Was a top-of-the-class kind of guy.
And when he returned to Massena after retiring from GM to help his Dad and family and run for mayor, he saw the problems. He was elected mayor for a four-year term.
With this office, he was elected to supervise a $17 million budget as the chief executive elected officer of the Village of Massena.
The knowledge these men get from a term as mayor is not replaceable and truly needed in local government.
He is a good man and wears Massena on his sleeve and heart.
He actually walked village streets as mayor where the police had constant activity. Saw him attend court sessions.
I ask you to vote for James Hidy for the 14th district. He will hard for Massena.
