Opinion: Community thanked for Downtown movie help in Massena

To the Editor:

The Massena Drug Free Community Coalition is nothing without all the people and organizations that came to the table with their insights, ideas, and perspectives. Our sponsors, partners, and volunteers are the heart of our coalition and are the reason events like the Downtown Movie night are so successful.

With your help, we were able to provide another free, fun, safe, and drug free event for our prospering community. We are so grateful for your donations, whether it be in the form of money, food, drinks, or time. You have made a positive impact in our community and you should be proud of that.

A special thank you to the following people:

• Massena Electric Department and DPW for putting in overtime to lend a helping hand.

• Massena Police, Massena Fire, & Massena Rescue for being on standby in case of emergency

• Seaway Valley Prevention Council for the set up and use of the projector, screen and speakers

• Subway, Enbridge St. Lawrence Gas, Seacomm, Elks Lodge, & Frenchies for their monetary donations

• To our community partners Advancing Tobacco Free Communities, BD Entertainment, Horizons, EZ Child ID System, Girl Scouts, Triple A Lumber, Massena Baptist Church, Walmart, and Home Depot

• For all the great food: Rapidz Food Truck, Rosario’s, Tim Hortons, Burger King, McDonald’s, Stewarts, and Massena Little League

• And to Clix Carnival Treat Shop for the popcorn and snow cones as well as the drone coverage of our event

Thank you to our community for coming out and enjoying the night with us. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
