Opinion: Audience voices displeasure at movie, says Canton man

To the Editor:

I liked the movie "I, Tonya" enough to see it twice. It was well worth a second viewing, but painful to observe what happened at the end.

The first time I was the only one in the theatre. The second time there were maybe two dozen people in attendance. When the clips of the real Tonya Harding at the 1991 U.S. Figure Skating Championships came on the screen, everybody walked out.

I called out in a gentle voice to urge everyone to watch her, but no one did. No one wants to remember her for her skating. It was a disappointing commentary on America.
