To the Editor:

The Community Lunch Program for Kids would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to the many civic organizations, businesses and area churches for their support in 2017.

We have been very fortunate to have support from many religious organizations, businesses and civic groups including: Food Bank of Central New York, Norwood American Legion, Ron Tuper Endowment Fund, Order of the Eastern Star, Stewart’s Shops, JCEO of Malone, St. Philip’s Episcopal Guild, Norwood-Norfolk Raymondville Outreach, Community Bank of Norwood, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, Norfolk American Legion, SeaComm Federal Credit Union of Massena, Norwood Free Methodist Church, Raymondville Methodist Church, Norwood-Norfolk Teacher’s Association, St Andrew’s Knights of Columbus, Walmart of Massena, Price Chopper, Norfolk Housing Authority, Renewal Housing, Diocese of Ogdensburg, Norwood Volunteer Fire Dept., Norfolk Volunteer Fire Dept., Village of Norwood, The Altar Rosary Societies of the Church of Visitation, St. Raymond’s and St. Andrew’s, Norfolk Wesleyan Church, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and the parishioners of the Catholic Churches of Norwood, Norfolk and Raymondville.

We also appreciate the support from the parishioners of the First Congregational and Methodist churches of Norwood, employees of the New York State Power Authority members of IBEW Local 2032 and management staff; Corning Corp. of Canton, as well as the Friends of the Norfolk and Norwood libraries, and the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry.

We are especially appreciative for the use of St. Raymond’s Church for storage and distribution purposes.

We concluded our year with our final 2017 distribution just prior to Thanksgiving break with a distribution of 1,590 meals to 59 families with 158 children from the Norwood, Norfolk, Raymondville area.

It is our goal in 2018 to increase the number of our distributions to 8 times per year (winter break, spring break, late June, two distributions in July, August and Thanksgiving break).

We are blessed to have the support of our community, as we reach out to those less fortunate. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season.
