Morgan the best choice for Canton Town Board

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to urge the Voters of the Town of Canton to consider Michael K. Morgan as the candidate worthy of election to the Town Board this November.

I have known Michael for many years through several associations, one being his active membership in the Canton Fire/Rescue Dept. Mike has served in several leadership positions within the Dept. from Asst. Chief to Chief and currently as Treasurer. As in any organization, whether civic or fraternal, the membership relies upon good leadership to sustain itself and also position itself to be able to meet the demands of the near and far future. I have watched Mike from the time he became involved in the Department as a new volunteer and move through the ranks, taking on more responsibility and leadership roles as he began to understand the role and mission of the Dept in its service to protect the people we serve. He has moved from the “I” view of his service to the “We” and “Other” in his planning and motivation.

I believe, if given the chance to serve the citizens of this Town as a Board Member, that Mike is a person who will take many of the qualities to the meeting that many of us consider important; consideration for the Township as a whole – not just at the present time with an issue, but the long term effects and consequences. Fiscal conservativeness with our tax dollar, the importance of the each and every individual living in the Town, and dialogue and cooperation with all the political bodies that affect each and everyone of us on a daily basis – to name a few.

Mike has spend many hours attending the Town Board regular meeting over the many years he has served as an Asst. Chief and Chief of the Department. By attending these meetings, he has gained a wealth of knowledge on the Town operation and many of its people. This experience can only help him to be better equipped to sit at the meeting table as a new member and make informed decisions.

I highly recommend Michael K. Morgan in his bid to seek a seat on Canton Town Board.
