To the Editor:
My name is Scott Niles, Captain of the first Responders’ Unit of the West Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. Every year we have a memorial tree in remembrance of those members of our community and families that have been lost to us.
On the event date, we meet at the Fire Department at around 6 p.m. and then walk up to our tree across the intersection for the lighting ceremony.
Dependent on the weather; if good weather, the list of donators and community members will be read at the tree or if bad weather we will return to the station signing a Christmas Carol, where the names will be read. After the reading food will be provided. Members may be on location at the Potsdam IGA and Potsdam Save-a-lot in the next few weekends.
Captain Scott E. Niles, West Potsdam First Responders
