To the Editor:
The Kiwanis Club of Potsdam wishes to express their gratitude to the area’s merchants, private donors and members of the Builders & Key Clubs, Circle-K of Potsdam SUNY and Clarkson University SOTA, plus friends who pitched in to help make the annual pancake breakfast, held in the United Methodist Church, Potsdam Saturday, April 7 a huge success.
“Thank you to the following people and businesses for their valued generosity and support.” Paul La Due, Bruce & Kim Thompson (Southville Maples), Tony & Michele Weaver (Freihofer Distributors); Pete, Connie & Reese Basham of B&B Maple Farm, Henry & Nancy Walters, Robin Johnston (Johnston’s H2O), NBT Bank, McFadden Dier Insurance Co.; Dr. Schechter, Arby’s, Bronson’s One Hour Heating & A/C; Ponderosa Restaurant of Potsdam; Stewarts Shops, I.G.A. and Price Chopper.
The profits realized from this event are used to help fund a scholarship for a graduating high school senior electing to further their education in any particular field. In addition, the remaining amount is used to foster projects and programs that benefit the youths of both the Potsdam and Parishville School Districts starting with the much utilized Head Start Reading Program, K-Kids Development Program, Builders Club Enhancement Projects and the Key Club Future Social Environment and Human Involvement Skills.
Recruitment of new members in the Kiwanis Club of Potsdam is on-going. If you can commit to a minimum of 2 hours per month in attending our General Membership Meetings held at the Ponderosa Restaurant on the 4th Tuesday each month starting at 6 p.m., please come as a guest of the Kiwanis Club of Potsdam to see and learn more details what our function has to do with the children of our community.
Call (315) 265-3917 to let us know of your intentions. Once confirmed, just tell the cashier at Ponderosa that you’re a “guest” upon arrival. Bring your children for a buffet costing 99 cents each.
