To the Editor:
Although it makes for a nice “hometown” flavor to picture a young Amish girl tending her family’s table at the Potsdam Farmers’ Market (Front Page, Sept. 1-7), it would behoove the photographer to realize that taking a photo of an Amish person is against their belief.
They do not believe in having images of themselves or their property taken and reproduced.
Fortunately, they are much more tolerant of other’s ignorance then we are of their beliefs and values.
Karen Morgan, Norwood
Editor’s Note: North Country This Week asked Anna Yoder for permission to take her photo. She said she had no objection to it.
