To the Editor:
Raquette Valley Habitat for Humanity (RVHFH) would like to thank everyone that supported our recent Annual ReUse sale on Aug. 3, at St. Mary’s School.
Special thanks to St. Mary’s School for the use of their gym, members of the Northern New York Lumber Dealers Association for construction material donations, Lowes-Potsdam for multiple donations, Tractor Supply - Potsdam, Coakley’s, to members of the surrounding communities who donated reusable construction materials and to a special individual, who is a loyal supporter of RVHFH who took our remaining items for a garage sale the following weekend. It was a huge success with proceeds of $2,574 that will be put toward our next build to begin in Spring 2012 on Cottage Street in Norwood.
Habitat for Humanity is not a charity. It is a joint venture in which the partner family invests time, skills and financial resources building not only their house, but a lasting relationship with the local affiliate. Since 1989, Raquette Valley Habitat for Humanity has built 14 houses in St. Lawrence County. If others would like to become involved, you may call RVHFH at 244-1335.
Thanks again to everyone who donated and or helped in any way to make this a huge success.
JoAnne M. Fassinger
RVHFH Vice-President
