Gun law limits ability to defend family

Ninety-nine percent of New York gun owners are decent, loving, law abiding citizens. So why are decent citizens now restricted to seven rounds when we all know criminals and the insane will do as they please despite this new law? We have effectively made a criminal’s job safer. It makes no sense to me.

My wife is a small woman and, quite honestly, I want her to have as many rounds as we can put in our home defense firearm while I am away doing my job. She deserves the right of self-defense with the best tool I can make available to her.

If the state wants to ban possession of rifles and larger capacity magazines from criminals and the insane I am all for it, but not from decent law abiding people.

As law abiding New Yorkers, we deserve the right to defend our families with the best most effective means available. It is not the state’s place to tell me how to best defend my home, family and liberty.

Lastly, speaking as a husband and father, it is not just our right to defend our homes and families from those who would do us harm, it is our obligation to defend or homes and families from those who would do us harm.
