To the Editor:
The actions of Potsdam Village Board in firing Timothy J. O’Brien are regrettable.
Please consider these five points: I believe Mr. O’Brien’s probationary term ended at the very latest on May 29, 2012 at 11:59:59 p.m., the day before he was ambushed by the majority of the board. I believe Mr. O’Brien will be restored to his position therefore.
Anyone whoever believed that Tim O’Brien could be pressured into engaging in selective enforcement of building codes to benefit any organization, institution, party or government official is wildly mistaken.
Tim O’Brien is a straight-talking, knowledgeable, public servant or unquestioned integrity. A man who loves his native village and the North Country. I am glad that since I am no longer a property owner within the Village limits, I will not have to share in the protracted costs associated with making Mr. O’Brien whole in this, yet another bumbling episode at the hands of Potsdam Village government.
Bravo to Ruth Garner; shame upon the rest of you.
