Donations sought for Knight of Columbus Thanksgiving dinner in Ogdensburg

Posted

For 25 years, Knights of Columbus Msgr. Charbonneau Council 258 in Ogdensburg have offered a free Thanksgiving dinner to all who ask for it. More than a meal, this is an opportunity for socialization and support.

The meal preparation is provided by local community volunteers, and the food is generously donated by the community.

Last year, the Knights' Thanksgiving dinner fed 658 people on Thanksgiving Day. Over the years, with the help of our volunteers and donors we have been able to feed over 18,000 holiday dinners to those in need.

Volunteers prepare and serve the food, deliver meals to homebound residents, and decorate, set up and clean the hall. We appreciate everyone who gives up family time on Thanksgiving to help us. With out the support of our community, we would not be able to do this.

As we all know, the costs go up every year, but the generosity of the community continues to make this holiday meal possible. If you can donate towards this years Thanksgiving dinner, mail your check to the Knights of Columbus, Msgr. AD Charbonneau Council 258, Attention: Chairperson William Taylor, 721 Hasbrouck Street, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.

We will be setting up and decorating on Tuesday Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. All help is very much appreciated.

Please call the clubhouse at (315)393-7990 for reservations or take outs, if no answer leave message with your name and telephone number, and we will get back to everyone who calls.

Thank you in advance for everyone's help and monetary donations. We at the Knights of Columbus are very grateful for all the help we receive. May everyone have a wonderful holiday season.
