To the Editor:
The Computer Guys in Canton and Potsdam would like to thank the Canton Chamber for recognizing us as member of the year. When the Canton location opened in 2010 we occupied the two upstairs rooms and they housed our entire store including the technician center, textbook storage, retail space and offices in the Masonic Temple building on State Highway 68. Over the last two years we have expanded to the downstairs of the building, which is almost triple the space that we have upstairs, added Verizon Wireless services and developed the inventory so that both locations carry the same items.
Although our Canton store was initially opened as a place for customers to drop off machines to be repaired in Potsdam and for students to sell their textbooks, the demand from the community quickly altered those plans and we were happy to oblige. We are a family owned and operated business that strives to treat our customers and community like family. It is only because of the welcoming atmosphere of the community itself that we are able to do this.
From the very beginning of our Canton store Sally Hill, Chamber of Commerce Director for Canton has been nothing but helpful and knowledgeable. She has included us in events, fund raisers and promotes local businesses like crazy. We would not be as successful as we are today without the Canton Chamber of Commerce, Sally, it’s board members, it’s business members and our local patrons.
We offer our sincerest gratitude in acceptance of this award but also a thank you to the Canton community for welcoming us. We look forward to many more years in business in both Canton and Potsdam.
Brittany Matott, Canton
