To the Editor:

On behalf of the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank all the businesses and community members who helped make the 11th Annual Car-B-Que successful.

Our trophies and cash prizes were sponsored by: Blevins Bros.; Blue Heron Realty; Bradley’s Service Station; Carlisle Law Firm, P.C.; Maple City Auto Sales; Community Savings Bank; Defelsko; Dr. Patricia Mahoney; Ed-Med Federal Credit Union; Fish’er Chips; Hoosier Magnetics; Howland Pump; Jones Insurance Agency; Kimro’s Medicine Shop; Mort Backus; North Country Savings Bank; P & T Car Wash, LLC; Phillips Diner; Pinto, Mucenski, Hooper and VanHouse; Atty. Ramona Breen; Regan’s Automotive; Rishe’s Auto; St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union; Seacomm Federal Credit Union and Wilder Forsythe. Trophies were provided by John Porter at Underwater Discoveries.

Our Corporate Sponsor was Wireless Zone, a Verizon Wireless Premier provider who provided food for the 10th Mountain Division Band and rental of the tent from Jonesy’s Tent Rental.

We had a variety of entertainment! Josh Amo and the Seaway Valley Jumpers provided a 22 ft. water slide. Maggie Gebo had a face painting booth available. The 10th Mountain Division Band kept the crowd entertained with their wonderful music. Sandy Porter and the Ogdensburg GreenMarket was on hand to sell their wares. The Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad had a “Jaws of Life” demonstration. We had a 50/50 raffle which was won by Genny Ballou. Our grill was donated by Wal-Mart and the (5) piece patio set was provided by Lowe’s – Cheryl and Gary Seymour won the Grill/Patio Set raffle. To round out our BBQ prize -- Community Bank donated a BBQ set and Jones Insurance donated the propane tank.

A special “thank you” to the (55) classic cars and trucks that were the highlight of our Car-B-Que. We also had antique snowmobiles and a Schwinn bike from Lowell Groulx.

We could not have been successful without the assistance of the City of Ogdensburg and the City Recreation Department – thank you so much for helping us set-up the Car-B-Que at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center and Marina!

We had a great crowd! Thank you to our advertisers -- the Ogdensburg Journal; North Country This Week; 95.3 The Wolf and YESFM/QCountry for the live remote, as well.

Last, but not least a warm and grateful thank you to the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce Board Members (and their families) for all their work organizing; selling raffle tickets; set-up; cooking; clean-up and anything that was asked of them: Lee Jones and Sean McNamara, Car-b-Que Chairs; Mike Thayer; Lisa Hirsch; Kim Demers; Alex Augsbury; Lori Smithers; Don Tebo; Mike Brashaw; Steve Hawes; Judy and Garth Ryan; Cheryl & Gary Seymour; Bill Seymour; Michele Catlin and Nancy Forsyth; Ken Gardner; Bill Hosmer; John Morrison; Joe Metz; Cathy Piche; John Pinkerton; John Rishe; Megan Smithers and Derek VanHouse. A special thank you to our new office assistant, Brandi Jones for all her invaluable help before, during and after the Car-B-Que!
