Canton Neighborhood Center needs support

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people involved with St. Mary’s Lose for Good program for their generous donation to our food pantry at the Neighborhood Center in Canton.

In an effort to promote healthy eating habits the participants of Lose for Good donated healthy food to the pantry because of weight that was lost during their program. They have helped kick off our holiday season of giving by doing so.

This year has already shown to be a cold season and funding sources are very limited thus far.

We at the Neighborhood Center are doing our best to assist those in need, whether it be with food, heating fuel or utilities. In order to help those in need this holiday season we are asking for the support of the community more than ever.

This time of year is difficult on everyone. Now just try and imagine how hard it is for families who are on a strict budget with no room for luxuries such as holiday meals or gifts. This is why we are asking for your support.

Any and all donations are welcome at the Neighborhood Center during this time. Food and monetary donations are of the greatest assistance to those we serve.

Please follow the example set by the Lose for Good members and the countless others who give every year. We greatly appreciate all of the generous and heartwarming giving that occurs in our community.

With your help, no one’s grandparent or child will go hungry or cold this holiday season.

Donations can be made in person or mailed to the Neighborhood Center at 5 West St., Canton, NY 13617.

For any questions please feel free to call the Center at 386-3541, and ask for Brian.
