Action Angels collect 6,000 rolls of toilet paper in St. Lawrence County

To the Editor:

During the month of March, St. Lawrence County Community Action Angels sponsored a county-wide toilet paper drive.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, over 6,000 rolls were collected and distributed to over 33 food pantries and emergency assistance organizations throughout the county. Donations were received from as far as Buffalo.

The response to the drive was very positive, and there are hopes to make it an annual event. In fact, Community Action Angels groups in other counties plan to duplicate the efforts in their own communities.

Community Action Angels would like to sincerely thank all of those who donated, collected, distributed, and cheered on this fun, but very important, initiative. Special thanks go out to Kinney Drugs, Q-Country 102.9, St. Lawrence Supply, Parishville-Hopkinton Elementary School, Home Depot, North Coast Therapy, the Village of Waddington, Creative Xpressions, Cerebral Palsy of the North Country, St. Lawrence University’s Panhellenic Council, Clarkson University’s Kappa Delta Chi, Wyoming County Community Action Angels, University of Buffalo, and two additional local businesses who wish to remain anonymous.

Your generosity will serve hundreds of people and touch many lives. Community Action Angels is a statewide initiative, with 22 Community Action agencies participating in 25 counties across New York.

The purpose of the organization is to assist with unmet needs of individuals and families that may not be met through other resources. St. Lawrence County CDP Community Action Angels is made possible by a grant from the Alcoa Foundation.
