United Helpers recently honored three employees with the Margaret R. Spies Award.
It is for direct care employees who go "above and beyond expectations in the services of residents and co-workers."
The awardees include:
Amy D. Chisholm, a member of the Mosaic assertive community treatment team.
Stepheny J. Pinkerton, a certifies nurse's aide at RiverLedge.
Kateri L. Beldock, a certified nurse's aide at Maplewood.
The award was created in 2000 when Ann Spies gave to the Society of the United Helpers and created an endowment in memory of her mother, Margaret R. Spies, former resident of RiverLedge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and a longtime Hammond school teacher. Margaret Spies appreciated hard work and the ability to give from the heart, a release from United Helpers says. To earn the Margret R. Spies Awards, candidates are nominated by their administrative team and peers.
