CANTON -- St. Lawrence University Communications won an international award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education for an admissions publication.

The “Travel Piece,” is mailed to prospective students and used by admissions officers at college fairs, received the Bronze Award in the “In-House Print Publications” category in the 2013 Circle of Excellence awards, CASE announced this month.

“The information was simple, need-to-know, and organized well into digestible chunks for young minds with short attention spans,” a judge wrote. “The captions were inviting, and (St. Lawrence) made good use of statistics.”

The Circle of Excellence awards honor outstanding work in alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing at colleges, universities, independent schools and nonprofits.

This year, the competition received more than 2,900 entries for consideration in 45 categories.

More than 600 member institutions and nonprofits from 18 countries participated.
