POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence Health Systems employees recently named Nancy S. Foisy, Debra LaShomb and Bethany St. Hilaire as Canton-Potsdam Hospital employees of the quarter.

The three were peer-nominated, SLHS said.

Foisy, a registered nurse, joined CPH in.

Front, Sandra Jenkins; Mary Berger, Debra LaShomb and Gwen Bradley. Middle, from left, Jessica Scovil, Nancy Hartson, Laura Tyndall, Candice Welcher, Diana Vincent and Constance Spencer. Back, Sue Salego, Alex Brock, Nick Pomainville, Christopher Dunn, Ryan Foster, Danielle Cressey, Andy Sipos, Dave Crump, Steve Paquin and Matthew Casselman.

“Nancy is a beautiful example of how to treat patients with respectful attention and care,” said Sally A. Remington, director of ambulatory surgery and gastroenterology. “Her work requires her to advocate for the patient, and she does so with integrity and grace. She is dedicated to patient care, and upholds every value of CPH”.

LaShomb, a building attendant, joined CPH in 2013. Shortly after her arrival, she accepted a secondary position to help the laundry department, SLHS said.

“The day Debra joined our team, I knew she was going to fit into our culture perfectly. She is no stranger to hard work, focuses on quality and safety, and welcomes any challenge she’s faced with,” said Nick M. Pomainville, director of environmental services. “She puts our patients first and leaves nothing to chance when it comes to cleanliness and infection prevention.”

St. Hilaire, a physical therapy assistant, joined CPH in 1996 and has worked in each of CPH’s physical rehabilitation locations including Canton, Lawrence Avenue and the main hospital campus. She now works out of the Brasher Falls clinic, and has since it opened there in August 2011.

“Bethany provides outstanding patient care to all of her patients. She goes above and beyond for her patients to ensure they achieve the best possible outcome,” said Terri E. Simzer, director of physical rehabilitation. “She is proactive about continuing education and is always excited to apply that new knowledge with our patients.”
