POTSDAM -- Xiaosong Song, a practitioner with Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Gastroenterology Services, has received his board certification in gastroenterology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Board certification is voluntary and includes an exam that tests a physician’s ability to diagnose patients with a broad range of conditions relating to the specialty area. Song’s practice includes sub-specialties in hepatology (diseases of the liver), manometry (a test that measures the functioning of the esophagus), and inflammatory bowel disease.
Song joined the hopsital’s staff in 2012. He received his MD from China Medical University in Shenyang, China, and completed a residency at New York Medical College, followed by a fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical University. For more information about Song contact 261-4493.
