Chief Petty Officer Tyler Murray, a graduate of Potsdam High School, was recently promoted to that rank by the U.S. Navy.
Murray has 14 years of service in the Navy and is stationed in Groton, Conn., where he is a cryptologic technician for submarine maintenance. He lives there with his wife Erica and two children Haley and Noah.
The Naval Submarine Base in Groton is one of the oldest in the U.S. dating back to 1868. It is also the location where new submarines are built by General Dynamics Electric Boat Division.
Many of Murray’s family members traveled to Groton for the pinning ceremony.
