POTSDAM – Community Bank System, Inc., a registered bank holding company with over 160 branches throughout Upstate New York and Pennsylvania, announces that Duane M. Pelkey and Ron Bacon will assume additional Commercial Banking Team Leader responsibilities for the entire northern region of New York upon the retirement of Michelle Pfaff at the end of 2010.
Pelkey has been leading a team of commercial and business bankers since April, 2010 and will concentrate on the entire St. Lawrence region.
Bacon, who joined Community Bank in 2007, will take on the entire Adirondack region.
Both will maintain and develop business relationships within their respective regions and are responsible for all aspects of credit administration loan approvals, number and quality of loans and the review of individual performance and training and guidance for his group of commercial lenders. Both will also look to meet the commercial services needs of business customers while achieving established customer service goals.
“I would like to thank Michelle Pfaff for her leadership and unwavering dedication to the Watertown market for the past 15 years on behalf of Community Bank,” said Nick Russell Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking. “Pfaff’s efforts and tireless volunteer activities have made a difference in how we are perceived in Watertown and our important surrounding markets. We have a lot of work that must be accomplished to maintain our solid footing in Watertown and grow in the future.”
