Ogdensburg Command Performances presented Louis Williams, owner of the Gran-View, with this year’s Franky Award. The Franky Award, named after OCP founder Frank Schwartz, is presented annually to an individual or organization that demonstrates overwhelming support for OCP.

Williams has generously supported OCP for decades, providing hospitality for board meetings, volunteer socials and patron parties. He also provides accommodations for the many professional touring groups as well as stars that perform in Ogdensburg each year.

Cindy Wilson, OCP past president and technical assistant, said Williams goes above and beyond when it comes to setting up accommodations for the talent when each show comes into town. One example was making sure Vicki Lawrence was able to have hot tea in her room when she came to town.

“Louis is always available when I call and he does his best to make sure that we are able to provide everything required by the companies,” Wilson said.

Williams said he appreciated the honor but that he enjoys helping OCP continue to bring the finest professional performances to Ogdensburg.

“OCP is an important part of our community,” Williams said. “It provides culture to our community. We have the Remington and OCP.”
